The practice was established by Matt Hodges in 2019 after more than a decade working in both boutique accounting firms and large international mid-tier firms. Commencing his career in 2005 in a boutique practice, he then went on to spend eight years at Grant Thornton and Pitcher Partners managing large client portfolios and gaining a wealth of knowledge, before moving back into a boutique environment prior to commencing Hodges Accounting and Advisory.
Matt is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) who has spent his career working with clients spanning a wide range of industries. Matt’s particular interest is in the family business space and assisting businesses achieve the best results on their business journey. He provides a balanced mix of technical accounting advice with the day to day operational aspects of running a business to give his clients easy to understand and relatable support.
Outside of the office, Matt was board member for Volleyball Western Australia, contributing to the sport that he played at a national level for over 15 years in both the indoor and beach formats. Whilst golf and AFL are now his two major sporting passions, these days his sporting involvement revolves around his three children.
Michael has spent close to 15 years working in small and medium size accounting firms. In that time he built great relationships with his client base, in turn learning a great deal about the business world.
The thing that Michael finds most rewarding about working in the industry is being able to help clients better understand their financial position allowing them to make informed business decisions. Michael has a particular interest in Cashflow reporting and management dashboard software programs that allows his clients to understand what impact their decision making has their cashflow and business performance.
Outside of his work, Michael loves spending his spare time with his family and friends. He has a love for all sport, particularly golf where he is an active member of the Royal Perth Golf Club.
